Kansas City, Kansas -- Local standout Aaron Marrant climbed in the #82 Wood Racing/Machine Supply Chevy modified usually piloted by David Wood for tonight's USMTS midseason showdown at Lakeside Speedway. Marrant gave the Shaw-built racer a steady drive in his division of the qualifying races, lining up 4th on the grid and finishing 5th. Not good enough for an immediate ticket to the main event, but a decent set-up for the secondary qualifier, where Marrant started 7th in a field from which 11 would transfer. A patient race, incident-free, was not enough to maintain track position and the 82 fell back gradually before settling in the 14th spot for the finish, kept out of the night's feature.
Defending USMTS champion Ryan Gustin (#19) continued his recent dominance in the A with his second win in as many nights.
